The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has prohibited the hosting of stakeholders’ meetings for the ongoing electronic membership registration (e-registration) exercise at any private residence.
In a statement released on Thursday 15 January 2026, the State Publicity Secretary Valentine Onojeghuo, said the party leadership emphasised that such gatherings must now be conducted exclusively at designated public locations to promote transparency, inclusiveness, and neutrality.
The clarification, issued under the authority of State Chairman Elder Omeni Sobotie, follows an earlier mandate directing Local Government Party Chairmen and Council Chairmen to organise mobilisation meetings across the 25 local government areas.
The approved venues are limited to; the Local Government Party Secretariat, the Local Government Council Hall (where one exists) or Any publicly accessible event centre located within the local government headquarters.
According to the statement, the party was unequivocal in its stance: “On no account should any stakeholders’ meeting be held at the private residence of any individual, regardless of status or position.”

Local Government Party Chairmen have been enjoined to strictly comply, with the directive described as essential for ensuring proper coordination and credibility in the e-registration drive.
“Delta State APC remains committed to the successful conduct of the E-Registration exercise and calls on all party officials and stakeholders to adhere faithfully to party directives in the collective interest of strengthening the Party at all levels,” the statement added.
The move comes as the party intensifies grassroots mobilisation under its “Renewed Hope for the M.O.R.E. Agenda” banner, aiming to build a robust, transparent membership database ahead of future electoral contests.
