Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has carried out a minor cabinet reshuffle, swapping key commissioners in the energy and education ministries to sharpen focus on critical sectors.
In a statement signed by Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kingsley Eze Emu, the redeployments take immediate effect. Engr Michael Ifeanyi Anoka moves from Physical Planning and Urban Renewal to head the Ministry of Energy. Hon Sunday Tataobuzogwu swaps places with him, taking charge of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal.
In the education portfolio, Mrs Rose Ezewu shifts from Secondary Education to Primary Education, while Dr Kingsley Ashibuogwu assumes responsibility for Secondary Education.
The adjustments, affecting only four commissioners, are described as routine fine-tuning to boost performance in infrastructure and human capital development.
In a parallel move, Governor Oborevwori has nominated three distinguished personalities to the Governing Council of Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU).

The nominees are Rt Hon Festus Ovie Agas, Rt Hon Frank Enekorogha, and Charles Ajuyah (SAN). Their inauguration date will be announced shortly, the statement added.
The twin announcements come amid ongoing efforts by the MORE Agenda administration to strengthen governance structures and institutional leadership across Delta.
Political watchers in the state view the changes as strategic mid-tenure realignments, particularly in education and energy, sectors seen as vital to the governor’s development priorities.
No major reasons were cited for the swaps, but sources close to the Government House say they aim to inject fresh momentum where needed. The cabinet remains largely intact, with the reshuffle limited in scope.
