Delta Assembly Committee requests performance reports from Delta North LG Chairmen

The Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has requested performance reports from the chairmen of the nine local government councils in the Delta North Senatorial District, covering their first 100 days in office.

The reports should include details on personnel strength, political aides, wage bills, projects, and contracts, as well as funds received since they took office.

At a meeting held on November 4, 2024, Committee Chairman, Hon. Chukwudi Dafe outlined the requirements, directing that submissions should be sent in sealed envelopes, with 16 copies each, to reach the committee by November 11.

Dafe, joined by other committee members, emphasized the importance of collaboration and adherence to legal provisions, highlighting sections of the Local Government Law and Delta State’s Fiscal Responsibility Law.

Committee members advised the chairmen to align with budgetary guidelines and the M.O.R.E Agenda, while maintaining effective relationships with the committee for better governance. Chief Obi Nzete, Chairman of Ndokwa West Local Government, responded positively, assuring cooperation and respect for the committee’s oversight role.
