Winner of the Saturday re-run election and lawmaker representing Burutu Constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Alapala Anthony Ebitonmo, has lauded his constituents for the massive support given to him and his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the just-concluded Delta Assembly re-run elections in the state.
Alapala was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, at the 2023 General Elections, last year, and whose victory was challenged in court by the then incumbent lawmaker of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, Hon. Asupa Forteta.
Thanking and appreciating constituents for their unalloyed support at the re-run election held at the cancelled wards, the lawmaker promised to reciprocate the gesture through better representation and more dedicated services.
He said: “I want to sincerely thank my people, the people of Burutu Constituency I, for the massive support reposed in me in the just concluded re-run State Assembly election. I thank you all for having faith in me, I thank you for the aggressive votes that propelled my victory.
“Your votes blatantly demonstrates the love and trust you have for me to be the voice that will take us to greater heights in Burutu Local government area. More so, I appreciate the effort of the Hon. Alapala Campaign Organisation, Delta State APC and the Delta Ijaw APC for standing firm with me all through the trying period.
“I thank the people of Ayakoromo, Oboro, Enekorogha and Edegbene communities for making this dream a reality. I thank all the people of Burutu Constituency I as I’m deeply moved by the expression of your confidence in me, and I assure you that your kind gesture will certainly be reciprocated with developmental activities in the constituency.
“I am passionate about serving others and I look forward to continuing to work for you as your state representative to restore jobs and prosperity and make it once again a place where people of all ages can count on in the future.
“I wish to also recognize the effort of the security personnel for their professional display in ensuring a peaceful and hitch free exercise, I thank the electoral umpire, INEC, for conducting a free, fair and credible election in Burutu Constituency I and Delta State in general”.
