Delta Special Economic Zone: Driving Economic Growth — NEPZA

The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) has described the Delta Special Economic Zone as an emerging economic powerhouse, poised to boost GDP and improve livelihoods when fully operational.

After inspecting the Kwale and Koko Free Trade Zones, NEPZA Deputy Director, Hauwa Audu Tarfa, praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s political will and the Zone’s leadership for strengthening Delta’s economy.

Delta SEZ MD/CEO, Pastor Godwin Akpovie, highlighted Kwale’s vast oil and gas resources and Koko’s strategic Atlantic Ocean access as key to enhancing port operations and trade competitiveness. He lauded the Governor’s commitment to making Delta a hub for business and innovation through the MORE Agenda.

Board Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mike Ndubisi (Rtd), said the Zone will solidify Delta’s role in global trade by facilitating seamless imports, exports, and value chain integration.

Board member Dr. Peter Oriavwote noted the Zone’s vital role in advancing trade, manufacturing, and industrialization, while NEPZA Director Emmanuel Ofunne commended the investment-friendly environment fostered by the Governor and Zone leadership.
