Delta CP Commences Area Command Tour to Strengthen Security

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, has begun a familiarisation tour of Area Commands across the state, aimed at improving operational effectiveness, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and fostering stronger police community relations.

The tour kicked off at the Asaba Area Command, where the CP was welcomed by the Area Commander, ACP Alex Udeze. He held meetings with senior officers, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and personnel within the command.

During the visit, CP Adesola urged officers and men to uphold professionalism, discipline, and proactive policing, while stressing the importance of intelligence-driven operations, respect for human rights, and efficient service delivery.

The Commissioner also engaged in interactive discussions with key stakeholders in the area, including traditional rulers, community leaders, youth groups, transport unions, and members of the business community. He called for continuous cooperation in tackling security challenges within the Asaba metropolis.

As part of the tour, the CP paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Asagba of Asaba, where he was received by His Royal Majesty, Obi (Prof) Epiphany Chibuogu Azinge, SAN, OON, alongside members of the traditional council. He expressed appreciation for the ongoing support of the traditional institution and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to collaboration in ensuring peace, safety, and public trust.

The familiarisation tour will extend to other Area Commands across Delta State as part of the Commissioner’s broader plan to evaluate operational requirements, boost personnel morale, and strengthen community-focused policing.
