Delta HoS Hails Graduates of Procurement, Environmental Course

The Head of Service of Delta State, Dr. Mininim Oseji, has showered praise on scores of civil servants who successfully completed a rigorous three-week certification training in Procurement, Environmental, and Social Standards.

The programme, held in Asaba, was designed to sharpen participants’ skills in transparent, accountable and sustainable public procurement practices in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda.

Dr Oseji, who addressed the closing ceremony, described the graduates as “committed champions of best practices” and urged them to immediately deploy the knowledge gained to deliver greater value for money, shrink environmental footprints and deepen social inclusion across all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

She specially thanked Governor Oborevwori and Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu, for their strong backing, while commending the Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards Enhancement (SPESSE) Centre of the University of Benin and the Directorate of Establishments and Pensions for the seamless partnership that delivered the high-quality training.

Among the participants who spoke glowingly about the programme’s impact were Mrs Juliana Oyomawelu (Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs), Ms Igini Uviomor (Ministry of Finance) and Mr Vincent Ohwofadjeke (Delta State Capital Development Agency).

They highlighted improved client inclusivity, better communication and stronger emphasis on value-for-money principles as immediate takeaways for their work.

Programme Coordinator Mrs Jessica Okediadi and Acting Permanent Secretary Mr Kingsley Olomukoro also charged the fresh certificate holders to translate the training into more efficient, transparent and citizen-centred public service delivery across the state.
