Operatives of Delta State Police Command on Monday killed a suspected armed robber during a robbery incident at Play Learn Academy School, Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The operatives went on a raid at Redeem Road, Okpanam town, following incessant complaints of robbery incidents.
An English Pump Action gun and a cut-to-size single barrel gun with three cartridges were recovered from the suspect and his accomplices, who unfortunately fled during the gun duel.
The Police Public Relations Officer, (PRO), DSP Bright Edafe, said that the suspect, who was injured during a shootout with Delta Hawk Team and Okpanam operatives, died in a hospital.
In another incident, operatives of the Orerokpe Police Division arrested two suspected armed robbers who pushed a lady from a moving keke (tricycle) and made away with her belongings at Okudiete community in Okpe local government area.
It was stated that the operatives arrested the suspects after the incident was reported by the lady.
After the report, the operatives swung into action and though one of the suspects escaped, two were arrested and all the items robbed from the victim were recovered from the robbers, including a tricycle with REG NO: ASB56QD.
