On 1 December, operatives of the State Anti-Cult Unit (SACU), supported by community volunteers, stormed the Obiaruku forest following credible intelligence that a kidnap gang was regrouping in the area.
According to the command, the suspects opened fire on the advancing team, prompting officers to respond with superior firepower. One suspect was killed during the exchange, while others fled with injuries.

Three-Man Syndicate Arrested; Weapons and Stolen Tricycles Recovered
Between 28 and 29 November, the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT), led by ASP Julius Robinson, arrested three members of a suspected criminal syndicate.
The suspects — identified as gang leader Victor Oguaye (26), Kelvin Oke (42), and Monday Emakpo (31) — were apprehended during coordinated operations that also led to the recovery of two stolen tricycles, a shotgun, a Beretta pistol, and live ammunition.
