Delta Police Neutralise Suspect, Recover Weapons in Multiple Operations Across the State

The Delta State Police Command has reported a series of successful operations carried out between 28th November and 1st December 2025, leading to the arrest of several criminal suspects, recovery of arms, and the disruption of kidnapping and robbery networks across the state.

Kidnap Suspect Killed in Obiaruku Forest Raid

On 1 December, operatives of the State Anti-Cult Unit (SACU), supported by community volunteers, stormed the Obiaruku forest following credible intelligence that a kidnap gang was regrouping in the area.

According to the command, the suspects opened fire on the advancing team, prompting officers to respond with superior firepower. One suspect was killed during the exchange, while others fled with injuries.

Police recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with 42 rounds of live ammunition, nine mobile phones, and charms believed to belong to the fleeing gang members.

Three-Man Syndicate Arrested; Weapons and Stolen Tricycles Recovered

Between 28 and 29 November, the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT), led by ASP Julius Robinson, arrested three members of a suspected criminal syndicate.

The suspects — identified as gang leader Victor Oguaye (26), Kelvin Oke (42), and Monday Emakpo (31) — were apprehended during coordinated operations that also led to the recovery of two stolen tricycles, a shotgun, a Beretta pistol, and live ammunition.

Another Arrest on Asaba–Benin Expressway

In a separate operation on 29 November, the Eagle Net Special Squad, under SP Danyaya Inusa, intercepted and arrested 28-year-old Ezekiel Edeya along the Asaba–Benin Expressway. Officers recovered a locally fabricated pistol, three live cartridges, and tools believed to be intended for criminal activities.
