Delta State Civil Service Commission says it will conduct a Compulsory Refresher Course and Promotion Examination for officers on Salary Grade Levels 05 – 10 in the State Civil Service, due for promotion on 1st January,2026.
A Statement by the Permanent Secretary and Director Public Communication Harold Ojji says the Refresher Course for Officers on Salary Grade Level 05 – 10 would take place on Friday October 10,2025 at the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria Hall, along Mariam Way, Asaba between 9:00 a.m – 3:00 p.m.
The Promotion Examination for officers on Salary Grade Level 05 – 10 according to the statement would be held on Saturday October 11,2025 between 9:00 a.m – 11:00 a.m at TETFUND 1,000 Capacity Hall, Dennis Osedebay University, Asaba.
It emphasizes that all eligible officers should come along with their letters of first appointment, last promotion and staff identity cards.
The statement adds that only officers, who satisfy the aforementioned requirements and whose names and particulars have been duly forwarded to the Civil Service Commission by their various Ministries/Extra Ministerial Departments will be accredited and allowed to participate in the exercise.
The statement enjoined Ministries and Extra Ministerial Departments that have not submitted the promotion briefs of concerned officers, minutes of meeting of Personnel Management Committee and clearance of the Office of the Head of Service to the Commission to do so on or before Wednesday October 8, 2025.
It warned that Officers from defaulting MDAs will not be allowed to participate in the Refresher Course and Promotion Examination .

Members of the Peace committee set up by the Delta State Government headed by the Director General Security Delta State, Hon David Tonwe to resolve the lingering crisis between the Urhobos and Itsekiri in Odion community in Warri South Local Government on Friday met with representatives of the two ethnic nationalities with call on them to show genuine commitment towards resolving the lingering crisis that has affected the area negatively.
The DG security, Delta State Hon David Tonwe who midwified the sitting told Representatives of both communities that the State Government is fully committed to a peaceful resolution of the issues.
The meeting had in attendance representatives of the Urhobos and Itsekiris, members of the Delta State Government peace committee including security personnel.
The Director General Delta State security, Hon David Tonwe who doubles as the Chairman of the committee after listening to both parties on what transpired that led to the death of one Jerry Oduaa stated that all issues and concerns raised by them will be Carefully exrayed and those found wanting arrested and prosecuted saying the committee is poised to finding a lasting solution to the crisis inline with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s directive.
Hon Tonwe who urged the representatives of the two ethnic groups at the meeting to return home and prevail on their people to stop any further perceived attacks and provocative statements called on them to strongly have faith in the committee assuring that they will not be biased nor take decisions based on ethnic sentiment but would be firm, just and come out with reasonable resolutions that will be accepted by all parties.
The DG security while calling on the representatives of Urhobos and Itsekiris not to be slow in the implementation of some of the decisions reached during the meeting. He called on those fueling the crisis to have a rethink and allow peace to reign for the good and generality of all.
Hon Tonwe equally disclosed that it was also agreed during the meeting that after the expiration of the grace period those from Urhobo, Itsekiri and Ijaw using various social media platforms to peddle false information to escalate tension in Warri, would be apprehended and prosecuted inline with the cyber bullying act.

The Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Hon Weyinmi Agbateyiniro urged representatives of the two ethnic groups to show genuine commitment to assisting the committee to find a lasting solution to the issues raised.
The representative of the area commander at the meeting Who reminded them of the negative implications of cyber bullying assured that they are committed to go after those using the Internet to fuel crisis based on genuine complaints.
The meeting between Representatives of the Urhobos and Itsekiris with the peace committee set up by the Delta State Government continues.
