Elumelu, Aniocha Oshimili People’s Foundation Donate School Uniforms Across 27 Primary Schools in Delta

The Aniocha Oshimili People’s Foundation, a socio-political group, in partnership with Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, has provided school uniforms to over 270 underprivileged pupils in 27 primary schools across the four local government areas of the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in Delta State.

Led by its coordinator, Ezinne Ngozichukwuka Odiwe, the foundation visited the beneficiary schools last week, personally distributing the uniforms to the identified pupils in need.

Odiwe explained that the initiative was launched to tackle the problem of students being turned away from school simply because they didn’t have proper uniforms a challenge that has been hurting school attendance.

“Too many children come to school wearing torn uniforms or none at all, which discourages regular attendance,” she said. “The headteachers we spoke with told us that when students are sent home for not having uniforms, many don’t come back because their parents can’t afford to replace them.”

With major backing from Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, the foundation provided the uniforms, investing millions of Naira into the project.

Odiwe, a retired Deputy General Manager of Delta Broadcasting Service, Asaba, noted that despite financial hurdles, the initiative was successfully carried out and it has already led to a noticeable boost in school attendance.

Parents from the four local government areas Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Oshimili North, and Oshimili South expressed deep appreciation for the initiative.

Ezinne Ngozichukwuka Odiwe also commended Hon. Ndudi Elumelu for his unwavering commitment to community development, even though he’s no longer a sitting member of the National Assembly.

“Elumelu has supported over 10 of the foundation’s projects, ranging from child welfare and elder care to voter registration drives,” she said. “I’m also pleased to share that beyond the Aniocha Oshimili People’s Foundation, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu continues to support many other groups and organizations working to improve our communities.”

She urged the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency to continue backing Elumelu in his future endeavors, especially his upcoming electoral campaigns, highlighting the positive difference he has made in their communities.

Odiwe also called for Elumelu’s return to the National Assembly, emphasizing how much it would benefit the people of the constituency.

“Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu’s comeback to the House of Representatives would be a huge advantage for everyone in the Federal Constituency that’s the honest truth. He’s proven his commitment by driving community-focused projects in the past, and he continues to support these efforts even now, despite not holding office.”

She said, “You can only imagine how much more effort he will invest in advancing our communities and improving lives when he returns to the House of Representatives.”
