The immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON, has once again reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to youth development and empowerment in the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.
He made this known while receiving the leadership of the Delta North College of Youth on a courtesy visit to his country home in Onicha-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The visit, which took place on Wednesday, was an appreciation call by the leadership of the Delta North College of Youth (Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency) to acknowledge Rt. Hon. Elumelu’s consistent support, encouragement, and dedication to the growth and activities of the College over the years.
The delegation, made up of representatives from the various local government areas within the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, was led by Comrade Raymond Omesiete and Engr. Ideh Yobo.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the youth leaders expressed heartfelt appreciation to the former Minority Leader for his steady moral support, strategic mentorship, and inclusive leadership approach. They noted that his guidance has greatly strengthened the College and inspired confidence among youths across Delta North.
According to them, Rt. Hon. Elumelu’s interventions have helped position the Delta North College of Youth as a credible platform for youth engagement, leadership training, advocacy, and meaningful participation in governance and community development.
In a colourful and symbolic presentation, the delegation honoured the respected politician and seasoned lawmaker by dressing him in traditional Anioma attire (akwa-ocha) and presenting him with a specially designed appreciation card, symbolising their respect, affection, and gratitude.
In his response, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu thanked the youths for the honour, describing the visit as both humbling and motivating. He praised the leadership of the Delta North College of Youth for their vision, unity, discipline, and clear sense of purpose, stressing that these qualities are crucial for raising responsible and effective future leaders.
He reaffirmed his confidence in the College as a key institution for grooming young people for leadership roles and assured them of his continued support, mentorship, and collaboration in promoting youth-driven initiatives within the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.
Rt. Hon. Elumelu also used the opportunity to commend the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for his strong commitment to youth development, noting that the Governor’s belief in the potential of young people has led to their deliberate inclusion across various sectors of governance in the state.
The visit concluded on a warm note of mutual appreciation and a shared resolve to further strengthen youth participation in leadership and development across Delta North and Delta State at large.
