Governor Oborevwori Approves Staff of Office Presentation for Udu Monarch

The Delta State Executive Council, led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the presentation of the Staff of Office to the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Engr. Mike Oghenovo Orugbo, Okporua I a key move in reinforcing the role of traditional institutions in the state.

Reacting to the development, the Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun (Hon.) Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, JP, FCIA, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the State Executive Council for the swift endorsement of the presentation.

The approval was given during the EXCO meeting held on Thursday, at the Government House in Asaba, with Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori presiding.

In a statement released by his Press Unit, Oyibode praised the Governor for his visionary leadership, people-centered governance, and ongoing development efforts across the state, describing him as “a leader with a heart for the people.”

He added that the timely approval demonstrates the Governor’s strong respect for traditional rulers and his firm commitment to fostering peace, unity, and the preservation of cultural values throughout Delta State.

Speaking on behalf of the people of Udu Local Government, Oyibode expressed sincere appreciation to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and the entire Delta State Executive Council for the timely approval of this significant event. “The people of Udu are truly grateful and remain fully supportive of the Governor’s MORE Agenda,” he said.

He also extended his congratulations to His Royal Majesty Engr. Mike Oghenovo Orugbo, Okporua I, on this important milestone, offering prayers for divine wisdom, lasting peace, and continued development during his reign.

The approval clears the path for the official presentation ceremony, which is expected to further reinforce the traditional institution and promote unity and development within the Udu Kingdom.
