Governor Oborevwori Flags Off 6th Strategic Communication Workshop in Delta

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the hosting of the 6th edition of the Delta Strategic Communication Workshop, Delcom 2025, as part of his administration’s MORE Agenda on human capital development.

The State Coordinator of Delcom and Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Communications, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, who announced the approval, said the workshop reflects the governor’s commitment to building a skilled and productive communication workforce.

He revealed that Dr. Joyce Ogwezi, Head of the Department of Mass Communication at Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba, will serve as Chief Trainer for this year’s edition, supported by other leading academics and professionals in journalism, mass communication, and strategic information management.

Delcom 2025, scheduled to hold in Asaba, will train about 150 participants drawn from political appointees, social media influencers, bloggers, and online publishers across Delta’s three senatorial districts.

Dr. Oghenesivbe assured that the annual programme will continue to strengthen the capacity of media partners for effective dissemination of government policies and achievements, adding that details of the theme and registration process will be released next week.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for his continued confidence in the Bureau for Communications and reaffirmed the bureau’s commitment to sustaining the programme as a platform for knowledge sharing and professional development.
