Gunmen attack Pastor in Ughelli, kills son

Gunmen have reportedly shot to death a young man identified as Christopher Nicholas. The incident occurred at his father’s compound along the Oviri-Ogor/Edjekota road in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

YourCitiNews learnt that the gunmen had shot at Pastor Nicholas Omoroka in front of his house. The cleric, who had just returned from a journey, reportedly escaped into the bush. But his son, who was in a neighbour’s house when the gunmen attacked his father, came out when he heard the sound of gunshots. The young man, who was in his 20s, was shot several times and killed by the gunmen, who thereafter went in search of his father.

The deceased had recently completed his duplex and was making arrangements to move into his new house by the end of October. He was temporarily staying in his father’s compound when he met his untimely death.

Delta State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, promised to respond to DAILY POST’s inquiries as soon as he got information from the police division nearest to the place of the incident.
