Hundreds Benefit as Dafinone’s Free Medical Outreach Reaches Orerokpe

Hundreds of people from Orerokpe and nearby communities in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State turned out for a free medical outreach organised by Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central. The programme was a key effort to improve access to healthcare at the grassroots level.

The outreach attracted many low-income and vulnerable residents, offering a wide range of services such as medical consultations, diagnosis, treatment, and free medications. People with vision problems were also given eyeglasses at no cost.

Speaking about the initiative, Senator Dafinone explained that the goal was to make quality healthcare more accessible, especially for those who cannot afford it or live far from medical facilities. He added that the programme is part of a larger plan to reach four carefully selected communities across Delta Central for greater impact.

Represented by his Okpe liaison officer, Mr. Yegbeburu, the senator said the outreach reflects his broader commitment to improving healthcare delivery in the district. He noted that, in addition to these medical missions, his office has been working on building, renovating, and equipping health centres in different communities.

He stressed that the initiative is focused on helping vulnerable groups who often struggle to access proper healthcare due to financial difficulties and poor infrastructure. Dafinone also reaffirmed his dedication to people-focused representation, promising to continue bringing meaningful projects that directly benefit his constituents.

“I remain committed to delivering quality, results-driven representation in the Senate while ensuring our people enjoy the true benefits of democracy,” he said.

The medical services were provided by a team of healthcare professionals led by Mr. Matthew Uruejoma, who oversaw patient care and the distribution of medications.

Programme coordinators and stakeholders, including Mr. Yegbeburu, Medical Outreach Coordinator Mr. Henry Esiri, and Border Community Development Agency supervisor Mr. Ovie Esievo, praised the senator for the initiative, describing it as both timely and impactful.

They said the programme would greatly improve the health of beneficiaries, many of whom had previously been unable to afford medical care. Beneficiaries also expressed gratitude, calling the outreach a huge relief and a clear sign of responsive leadership, while pledging their continued support for the senator.
