The People of Iriama Community in Okpe Local Government Area have appealed to Delta State Governor, Right Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Orhue the first and Law enforcement agents to stop the activities of a land grabbers in the community.
The residents who made the appeal in a peaceful protest alleged that land grabbers from another local government area have plans to sell over one hundred acres of the community land.
The Residents led by the community chairman, Mr Aghogho Oriosa and Secretary, Mr Kojo Esobiebi staged a peaceful protest in the community against the activity of an alleged land grabber, who was planning to sell over one hundred acres of land in the community belonging to different families.
Chairman of Iriama Community, Mr Aghogho Oriosa and Secretary it’s Mr Kojo Esobiebi as well as Mr Anderson Emurobome-Afua and Priest Obi Onome said they were surprised one morning to see surveyors surveying over one hundred acres of the community land and on inquiry they were told that a land grabber was planning to sell the said portion of land without the consent of the leadership of the community or the various families that own the land.

They further alleged that, when they accosted the suspected land grabber, he threatened them and claimed that the entire community land belongs to him.
The leaders of Iriama Community urged the prospective buyer to beware of the said land as, the community has not mandated anyone to sell any portion of its land and any who does so, will lose the money.
Elders in Council of Iriama Community Pa John Omamena-Abarre, Usele Lucky, Williams Idjede and Yellow Kojo appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom Orhue the first and Law enforcement agents to wade into the issue to prevent breakdown of law and order in the community.
