JAMB Sets April 2026 for UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the start of sales for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) application forms for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The announcement was made on Tuesday night via JAMB’s official X handle. In a statement signed by the Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the Board disclosed that the UTME is open to qualified candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions for the 2026/2027 session.

According to JAMB, UTME registration will run from January to March 2026, with the examination scheduled for April 2026. Specifically, registration for UTME candidates, including those from foreign countries, will take place from Monday, January 26 to Saturday, February 28, 2026.

The Board also reminded prospective candidates that possession of a National Identification Number (NIN) is compulsory before registration.

On age eligibility, JAMB stated that candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, to qualify for admission. However, underage candidates may be considered under special circumstances, subject to a thorough evaluation process to determine eligibility for a waiver. The Board added that results of such underage candidates would only be released after the completion of the evaluation.

For Direct Entry applicants, JAMB announced that the sale of DE application forms and E-PIN vending will begin on Monday, March 2, 2026, and end on Saturday, April 25, 2026. The process will be conducted exclusively at the Board’s State and Zonal Offices.

The Board further revealed that the 2026 UTME examination will hold from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 25, 2026, while the optional Mock-UTME is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026.
