Joint National Transport Safety Committee of Nigeria inaugurates Delta chapter

The Federal Government is showing its commitment to improving safety on nation’s roads as the Joint National Transport Safety Committee of Nigeria (JNTSCN) inaugurates its Delta chapter.

This is to ensure total compliance to regulations to avoid frequent crashes involving trucks and other articulated vehicles.

Available statistics from Federal Road Safety Commission indicates that a total of 650 tankers and trailers were involved in crashes in 2018, with over 90 percent of the affected vehicles used for haulage transportation for over 30 years.

Towards ending incessant road crashes caused by trucks and other articulated vehicles, the federal government established the Joint National Transport Safety Committee.

The National chairman of the committee is in Asaba to engage the media on its mandate as he underscores their drive to holistic eliminate human errors on the road through reforms.

Mr Taiwo unveils what the committee is doing to ensure total compliance by these road users.
