Mbeumo to Man United: £70m Transfer Deal Confirmed

As per the latest report from football expert Fabrizio Romano, it has been reported that Manchester United’s £70m offer for Bryan Mbeumo has been accepted by Brentford.

The Cameroon international may soon undergo a medical examination with the club before Ruben Amorim’s team departs for the United States on Tuesday for their pre-season tour.

The 25-year-old winger is poised to become United’s third acquisition of the summer, following the signings of forward Matheus Cunha and left-back Diego Leon.

United initially placed a bid of £55m at the beginning of June. Their second attempt, valued at £62.5m, was rejected at the end of that month.

However, Brentford is pleased with United’s most recent proposal, which starts at £65m and has the potential to increase to £70m with an additional £5m in add-ons.

Mbeumo, who joined Brentford in 2019 from Lorient, is set to become the club’s most significant sale to date.

He has performed admirably at Brentford, but playing for Manchester United presents a different challenge. Compared to Brentford, expectations are much higher at United. He will be expected to deliver results immediately.

With his experience, strong finishing skills, and versatility—being able to play as a central striker or on the wing, cutting in from the right onto his left foot—he brings valuable attributes.

Despite having one outstanding season with impressive statistics, the concern remains whether he can replicate that success consistently.

United is aiming for reliability in their forward positions, as they have not achieved that with players like Alejandro Garnacho or Antony.

They might be considering that an older, more seasoned player who can be counted on is what they require. Mbeumo fits this description—he aligns with Ruben Amorim’s tactical approach and possesses proven Premier League quality as well.
