Monarch raises alarm over exhumation of corpses in Delta community

The Traditional Ruler of Owa kingdom in Delta State, Emmanuel Efeizomor II, has decried over the exhumation of corpses by unknown persons.

The Monarch who disclosed this at the end-of-year interactive meeting with members of Owa community in his Palace at Owa Oyibu in Ika North East Local Government of Delta State, Described the act as unwholesome, adding that a high-powered panel has been constituted to carry out an investigation, warning that anyone found culpable would face the law.

Efezomor urged residents especially youths in Delta State to shun the get-rich-quick syndrome known as Yahoo which was dangerously creeping into Owa community even as he urged parents to check the excesses of their children and wards during the yuletide.

Efeizomor commended security agents for ensuring peace in the kingdom and enjoined them to step up efforts towards stamping out attacks by herdsmen on farmers. He also condemned growing rate of motorcycle accidents in the area and urged riders to be careful.

The monarch also called for increased patronage of the Mother and Child Hospital in Owa Alero by residents to justify the huge investment in the multi-million naira project by the Delta State Government.

The royal father further condemned the increasing rate of motorcycle accidents in the area and tasked motorcycle riders popularly known as Okada to take precautions to reduce the rate of accidents in the area.

However, the Owa Community Council thanked the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for the development of Owa Kingdom and other communities across the State praying for Gods’ protection upon him and his family.

The council urged indigines of the kingdom in positions of authority, all over the world to contribute their quota to the speedy socio-economic and infrastructural development of Owa.

Special prayers were also offered for good health, long life, and wisdom for the Obi of Owa, Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor 11 in piloting the affairs of kingdom and for peace, security and continued development of the kingdom.
