Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has praised the newly launched National Counter-Terrorism Centre Strategic Plan (2025–2030), calling it a major step forward in boosting Nigeria’s security system and strengthening national resilience.
The senator shared his remarks in Abuja, where he joined the Senate President, top security chiefs, and other national leaders at the official unveiling of the strategic plan. The event, hosted by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), brought together security professionals, policymakers, and key stakeholders to outline a unified, future-focused strategy for tackling terrorism and violent extremism nationwide.
He noted that the new plan prioritises better intelligence coordination, stronger operational capacity, and community-driven approaches to peacebuilding factors he considers essential for confronting Nigeria’s evolving security threats. “This is a commendable development. It represents a major leap in strengthening Nigeria’s security framework and national resilience,” he said.
Senator Dafinone also restated his commitment to backing national efforts that protect citizens and promote stability across the country.
“I remain dedicated to supporting initiatives that enhance safety, safeguard our communities, and reinforce the systems that keep our nation secure. Together, we will build a safer and more resilient Nigeria,” he added.
