The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on Friday, October 17, 2025, officially commissioned its new Model State Office Complex in Warri, Delta State, marking a major milestone in its drive to strengthen administrative presence and development delivery across the Niger Delta region.
The commissioning ceremony, which commenced at 10 a.m., drew an impressive gathering of dignitaries, including Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, NDDC Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, top government officials, and representatives of host communities. The modern facility, described as a symbol of progress and institutional renewal, is designed to enhance coordination and efficiency in implementing infrastructure, education, health, and empowerment initiatives within Delta State.
In his remarks, Governor Oborevwori commended the NDDC for its sustained collaboration with state governments, emphasizing that synergy between development agencies and local administrations is vital for delivering the dividends of democracy. He highlighted Delta State’s ongoing infrastructure efforts, particularly the ₦10 billion compensation package for road projects across the state, as part of his administration’s commitment to inclusive growth under the MORE Agenda.
NDDC’s Managing Director, Dr. Ogbuku, noted that the new office represents more than a physical structure—it is a hub for innovation, transparency, and closer engagement with communities. He reiterated that the Commission remains dedicated to sustainable development, youth empowerment, and environmental restoration in the Niger Delta.
The event, streamed live on X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and Facebook, attracted widespread attention from stakeholders and citizens across the region.
