In an important move for the Niger Delta region, Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, joined Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and other prominent political figures on Friday for the official opening of the new Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) State Office in Warri.
The ceremony, which gathered federal and state lawmakers, senior government officials, traditional leaders, and key stakeholders, signaled a fresh commitment to improving institutional efficiency and driving infrastructural development as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
After the commissioning ceremony, Senator Nwoko described the new NDDC Delta State Office as more than just a building—it’s a significant milestone.
He said the office serves as a strong symbol of the federal government’s dedication to transparency, effective service delivery, and sustainable development in the region.
Senator Nwoko, widely recognized for his commitment to regional empowerment and institutional accountability, highlighted that the commissioning marks a fresh start for the NDDC.
He also pledged his full support for development efforts that align with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision, especially initiatives focused on strengthening important institutions and promoting inclusive growth.
The new NDDC State Office in Warri is set to become a key center for project planning, execution, and oversight throughout Delta State. Officials believe the office will strengthen coordination between the commission and local stakeholders, cut through bureaucratic delays, and boost the commission’s responsiveness to community needs.
This building is part of a wider reform effort led by the NDDC, under the guidance of the Ministry of Regional Development, aimed at enhancing institutional effectiveness and rebuilding public trust in the commission’s ability to deliver on its mandate.
In his speech, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori praised the cooperation between federal and state agencies and emphasized the crucial role of unity in driving the region’s development forward.
He also praised the NDDC for completing a much-anticipated project and urged for more practical initiatives that have a real, positive impact on the everyday lives of ordinary people.
Other notable attendees included members of the National and State Assemblies from Delta State, traditional rulers, youth organizations, and civil society groups.
With its new office and a political environment geared toward reform, stakeholders are optimistic that the commission is moving in a new direction—one that emphasizes accountability, sustainability, and development that truly serves the people.
