The Herpontential and Special Needs Initiative, a non-governmental foundation (NGO), committed to supporting special needs of children and empowering the girl child, has been launched.
The event, held at the Ishaka Arena on Sunday, attracted participants from within and outside the state.
That was the official unveiling of the Herpontential and Special Needs Initiative by Rev. Dr. Philip Ozueh, alongside the CEO of the foundation, Mrs. Gbubemi Ukpetenan, her husband Mr. Tony Ukpetenan, and other special guests.
The CEO, Mrs. Ukpetenan, said the vision was borne out of her passion to see the girl child thrive and to provide care for children with special needs. She emphasized that every child’s needs are unique and require specific approaches, adding that the foundation will continue to prioritize the welfare of people with disabilities.
Mr. Tony Ukpetenan echoed her views, urging well-meaning individuals and corporate bodies to partner with the foundation as they render free services to the girl child and children with special needs.
Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Philip Ileleji, Rev. Dr. Philip Ozueh, and Mrs. Elohor Aghoghophia commended the Ukpetenans for their humanitarian services, describing them as virtues that have positively shaped society.
