The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has named Fred Edoreh a former Chairman of its Lagos Chapter and current Senior Special Assistant on Media to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for a Special Recognition Award as part of the association’s 60th anniversary celebrations.

In a notification letter signed by SWAN’s National Secretary, Ikenna Okonkwo, the association stated that the honour is in recognition of Edoreh’s exceptional contributions, professionalism, and long-standing dedication to the growth and integrity of sports journalism in Nigeria.

“Over the years, your passion, mentorship, and unwavering commitment have inspired many journalists and helped shape the nation’s sports storytelling,” the letter read.

SWAN added that the recognition is a gesture of appreciation for Edoreh’s sacrifices and lasting impact in promoting excellence, fairness, and credibility in sports reporting.
