No Wizkid? D’banj Names Top Afrobeats Acts

Afrobeats legend D’banj has ignited vibrant conversations on social media after sharing his current top three favorite music artists—Rema, Davido, and Burna Boy—while noticeably excluding global superstar Wizkid.

This revelation occurred during D’banj’s latest guest appearance on the Adesope Live podcast. The seasoned artist took a moment to explain what distinguishes each musician.

Rema for his energetic performances, Davido for his humility and steady reliability, and Burna Boy for his thoughtful artistry and engaging live shows.

“Shout out to Rema—I love his vibe,” D’banj remarked. “Then there’s Davido. People should take notes on how he presents himself as if he has nothing, yet remains so dependable. Burna Boy is very intentional; his live performances are incredible.”

The chatter remains active as fans express their thoughts on D’banj’s selections and the perceived oversight of one of Afrobeats’ most prominent figures.
