A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Hon. George Ogaga, has berated stakeholders from Delta South, who protested against the nomination of two ministers from Delta Central.
The National President of Ijaw People’s Development Initiative, (IPDI), Comrade Ozobo Austin, had in a statement, insisted that it was Delta South’s turn to produce the next federal minister in the state and not Delta Central. Austin who said it was unacceptable for President Tinubu to appoint two ministers from Delta Central without considering Delta South, stated that it will amount to injustice, marginalization and deprivation against the people of Delta South.
Hon. Ogaga who is also the Delta State Coordinator, South-South Movement for Tinubu/ Shettima in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, urged the people of Delta south to be their brothers keeper, noting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done no wrong appointing two ministers from the state.
Ogaga who expressed shock by the IPDI protest said Tinubu should rather be commended for his love and magnanimity for the state, reminding the Ijaw group that Delta South got two ministerial slot during the regime of President Olusegun Obasanjo and heaven did not fall.
“It is expected at this point in time to commend and thank the President for allocating two ministerial slot to Delta state irrespective of the region that he has chosen to mount the position, relying on the fact that Delta south had under the regime of former President Obasanjo got two ministerial slot and heaven did not fall.
“Roland Oritsejafor, former Minister of State for Defence and Alaowei Broderick Bozimo, former Minister of Police Affairs appointed by President Obasanjo were both from Delta south. It is unwise for anybody to cast aspersion on the President for considering Delta central instead of pouring accolades on him.”
Ogaga urged all stakeholders from the state to give maximum support to the ministerial nominees as well as the Tinubu-led administration for the betterment of the country.
