NUJ urges Oborevwori to tackle flooding in Delta

Due to the constant rainfalls, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Correspondents’ Chapel in Warri, has urged Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori to tackle the menace of flooding ravaging some parts of Delta State.

The union made the declaration in a statement saying the State Government should construct workable drainages alongside the affected roads especially in some parts of Warri, Udu, Uvwie and Okuokoko communities in Delta State,

The NUJ also encouraged the Warri Uvwie Environs Development Agency “to hasten the ongoing road and drainage reconstruction at Eboh and other adjoining streets of Okumagba Avenue, Warri”.

Speaking on the deplorable state of roads inside Warri, they said, “the only access road to the Press Centre at Eburu Street, off Okumagba Avenue Road, is in a deplorable state” and, therefore, appealed to the Governor to “extend his magic wand in reconstructing the road”.
