Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Former Governor of the state, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, CON, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, Dr. Kaine Edike are among eminent Deltans to be honoured Thursday, November 7, at the Delta Role Model Awards, 2024.
The award ceremony which is being organized in by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism in conjunction with the African Child Foundation will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the Mariam Babangida Leisure Park, Asaba at 6pm prompt.
In a statement signed by Olorogun Donaldson Onosakponome on behalf of the organizers, said Delta Role Model Awards, (DREAMS) is a value-driven project of the African Child Foundation with support by the Delta State Government in identifying, recognizing and rewarding Deltans, friends and well wishers of the state, brands, products, individuals and organizations who put Delta first in their demonstrated ability to innovate and invent for the social economic progress of the State.
He said the award which also promotes academic excellence has been adjudged as the oldest and most credible having been established in 2005 with the best of Deltans celebrated in the past.
Other nominees to be honoured include: Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu and Chief Sunday Onoriode; Commissioner for Economic Planning Mr Sonny Ekedayen, Commissioner for Environment, Hon Jamani Tommy Ejiro; Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr Odinigie Daniel Odigie; Ofure Magic Plus; SP Bright Edafe; Comr. Okoh Ezekiel Oghenetega, PhD; Dr. Kaine Edike; Engr. Gregory Glory Igere; Engr. Dr. Ajenakevwe Samuel Adjogbe; Godfrey Pondi Book Club; Godfrey Tare Pondi; Harrison Tare Okiri (Harrysong); Hon. Justice Frederick Oziakpono Oho; and Hon. Warri Ovoke Friday as Most Innovative LGA Chairman of the year.
