Okorodudu Reaffirms Dedication to Staff Development, Learning

The Executive Director of Projects at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, has reaffirmed the Commission’s strong commitment to ongoing staff training and professional development.

Dr. Okorodudu made this known on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, while receiving members of the Warri Branch of the Nigeria Association of Technological Engineers (NATE) during a courtesy visit to the Commission’s office in Warri.

He emphasized that continuous learning is key to building a skilled workforce. While academic qualifications lay the foundation, he said, attending conferences, workshops, and seminars is essential for sharpening staff skills and boosting overall productivity at DESOPADEC.

Dr. Okorodudu praised the Warri Branch of NATE for acknowledging DESOPADEC’s efforts in supporting professional development. He also expressed appreciation for the association’s dedication to the well-being of its members.

Dr. Okorodudu assured the delegation that their request for sponsorship would be passed on to the DESOPADEC Managing Director/CEO, Chief Festus Ochonogor, for proper consideration.

Earlier, during the visit, Chairman of NATE Warri Branch, Engr. Ovobor Okpakowoel, along with the Treasurer, Engr. Sagay Blessing, formally presented a letter seeking DESOPADEC’s support to enable their members working with the Commission to attend the Association’s annual AGM, conferences, and seminars.

Engr. Sagay explained that the sponsorship would foster collaboration among engineers from different disciplines, offer valuable opportunities for technical and leadership development through training and mentorship, and ultimately help staff contribute more effectively to DESOPADEC’s goals.

He also praised the significant progress made by the DESOPADEC Board, under the leadership of Chairman Hon. Barr. John Obukokwho Nani and MD/CEO Chief Festus Ochonogor, for the remarkable development projects brought to the oil-producing communities in Delta State.

The event concluded with Dr. Okorodudu receiving an Award of Recognition for Outstanding Performance, presented by Engr. Ovobor Okpakowoel, Chairman of the NATE Warri Branch.
