Oshimili South Legislative Council Holds First Plenary Session of 2026

The Legislative Arm of the Oshimili South Local Government Council has officially commenced its activities for the year 2026 with the successful conduct of its first plenary session.

Presiding over the sitting, the Leader of the Legislative Arm described the session as a significant milestone, marking the formal opening of legislative business for the new year.

The plenary began with an opening prayer and praise session, during which members expressed gratitude to God for the gift of a new year and prayed for divine guidance in the discharge of their legislative responsibilities.

Following the opening exercises, the Leader formally welcomed all Honourable Members to the House and urged them to remain committed to their constitutional duties.

The session featured extensive and fruitful deliberations on key developments and notable happenings within various communities across Oshimili South Local Government Area, particularly during the recent festive period.

In his remarks, the Leader commended the Honourable Members for their dedication, active participation, and meaningful contributions, which contributed to what he described as a productive day’s sitting.

He emphasized that the Legislative Arm remains the backbone of democratic governance at the grassroots level and plays a critical role in ensuring accountability, transparency, and effective service delivery.
