Ovie of Uvwie Honours Agbatutu Brothers for Service to Community

It was a memorable and joyful occasion for the Agbatutu family as two of their hardworking sons based in the United Kingdom, Christopher and Gregory, were conferred with chieftaincy titles by HRM Dr. Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON, Abe I, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, on Saturday.

The elder brother, Christopher, received the highly revered title of ‘Ame’ (Water) of Uvwie Kingdom, while his younger brother, Gregory, was honoured with the prestigious title of ‘Oghoghome’ (My Happiness) of Uvwie Kingdom.

Speaking shortly before the conferment, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom explained that the honours were in recognition of the brothers’ outstanding contributions to the development of the Uvwie General Improvement Union (UGIU), United Kingdom branch, and the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), United Kingdom branch. While congratulating them, the monarch urged the newly installed chiefs to remain steadfast and continue their good works.

In separate interviews with our correspondent after the ceremony, the Ame of Uvwie Kingdom, Chief Christopher Ufuoma Agbatutu, and the Oghoghome of Uvwie Kingdom, Chief Gregory Ejiroghene Agbatutu, expressed deep gratitude to the monarch for the recognition. They described the honour as a motivation to intensify their service to Uvwie Kingdom and humanity at large.

Their mother, Chief (Mrs.) Anastasia Onisuru Agbatutu, a respected chief in Uvwie Kingdom, also expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Ovie for the honour bestowed on her family. The renowned educationist and counsellor further advised her sons to remain committed to their path of service and good deeds.
