Police Bust Cult Hideout in Asaba, Recover Firearm

The Police Command in Delta State has conducted a raid on a food canteen utilized as an arsenal by alleged cult members involved in robberies in Asaba, the capital of the state.

One individual has been apprehended, and a firearm was seized from him.

SP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), stated that the operation at the well-known canteen was part of ongoing initiatives by the police to enhance public safety and security in the city and throughout the state.

According to him, on June 9, 2025, following credible intelligence, the operatives from the Command’s DOPS Buffalo Team, led by Commander DSP Charles Evboifo, stormed a food canteen that is a recognized hideout for cultists, capturing one Kingsley Ugochukwu, 40.

As the suspect noticed the police, he quickly discarded a locally made Beretta pistol, which was subsequently recovered by the operatives.
