Sanitation mobile court commences prosecution of offenders in Delta Capital Territory

In a bid to keep the State Capital clean, the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency sanitation mobile court has issued a court summon to eighteen premises which included five commercial and twelve residential premises before the mobile court adding that those summoned would be arraign on Wednesday 31st of January, 2024.

In a statement signed by the Director General of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Chief Patrick Ukah, he stated that a press statement was earlier issued indicating that five environmental mobile courts have been assigned to the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency to sit in Asaba, Okpanam/Issele-Azagba, Ibusa, Ugbolu and Okwe respectively and that the agency have done all necessary formalities with all the magistrates to the five mobile courts.

The statement recalled that one of the mobile court at Okpanam would commence prosecution of landlords, occupiers and business owners of premises that contravene the sanitations laws from Wednesday 31st January, 2024.

The statement therefore advised residents, occupiers and business owners to desist from dumping refuses on road medians and drains as the agency will arraign defaulters before the mobile court adding that this exercise would be a continuous process.
