The Chairman of Warri South-West Local Government Council, Hon. Sylvester Oromoni has said that strengthening security was crucial to the economic development of the people.
Oromoni who stated this at Ogbe-Ijoh, during the unveiling of proposed projects for the Council, said his administration was prioritizing security to ensure economic sustainability and development of the local government area.
The Chairman led local leaders and councilors to the proposed sites, showcasing plans for a police complex and officers quarters, LEA office building, patrol boats, and a modern jetty facility.
He said the projects when completed would enhance education, security and surveillance as well as boosting economic activities and transportation in the Council area.
Oromoni who emphasized that the projects which were approved through a supplementary budget, aims to boost economic and social activities in the council in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s enhanced peace and security initiative.
Speaking at the occasion, Delta State Director General Special Duties, Hon. Frank Omare and Leader of the Warri South-West Legislative Arm, Rt Hon Sam Ekpemupolo, past and present councillors, lauded Oromoni’s commitment to security personnel’s welfare as evident in the proposed police complex, which will further enhance their effectiveness.
They said that as a respected politician and businessman, Oromoni was expected to bring significant positive change to Warri South-West Local Government Council in line with the Governor’s M.O.R.E Agenda.
