TTBI Intensifies Grassroots Sensitization on PVC, NIN Registration in Delta

The Tinubu Torchbearers Initiative (TTBI), Delta State Chapter, has intensified its grassroots mobilization efforts with a renewed call for civic responsibility and political participation across the state.

Over the weekend, the State Coordinator of TTBI, Dame Princess Minnie Igbrude, PhD, continued her strategic sensitization and familiarization tour across the three senatorial districts of Delta State. Her latest engagement took place in Warri, Delta South Senatorial District, where she met with party faithful, community leaders, and other key stakeholders.

Addressing participants, Dame Igbrude stressed the importance of political awareness and active civic engagement as the political season approaches. She urged eligible citizens to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), retrieve misplaced cards, and ensure they complete their National Identification Number (NIN) registration.

According to her, the PVC remains the most powerful tool of democratic participation, as it enables citizens to exercise their constitutional right to vote and influence leadership decisions.

“The power to shape leadership begins with proper registration,” she said, emphasizing that without a PVC, citizens cannot fully participate in the democratic process.

She also encouraged parents and guardians to ensure that young people who have attained the age of 18 take advantage of the opportunity to register for their voter cards. Describing the vote as a voice and instrument of nation-building, she noted that youth participation is critical to strengthening democracy.

Beyond voter registration, Dame Igbrude highlighted the significance of obtaining a National Identification Number. She explained that NIN registration not only serves as a means of national identification and confirmation of local government origin but also provides access to government empowerment programmes and social intervention initiatives.

Aligning her message with the development agenda of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, she said the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda has resulted in visible transformation across the state. She referenced ongoing infrastructural projects, improved road networks, and other developmental strides as indicators of purposeful leadership.

Dame Igbrude noted that sustained mobilization and active voter participation would provide Deltans the opportunity to re-elect Governor Oborevwori and consolidate on existing achievements. According to her, continuity in leadership would guarantee stability, accelerated development, and greater dividends of democracy for the people of the state.

She concluded by reiterating that political engagement starts with civic consciousness, proper documentation, and collective responsibility.

As the election cycle draws closer, TTBI reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots sensitization, civic education, and strategic mobilization aimed at supporting leadership it says is delivering measurable results for Delta State and Nigeria at large.
