Two Killed in Ughelli Road Crash as Car Wrongly Overtakes and Forces Motorcycle Under Trailer

A tragic accident in Ughelli, Delta State, on Friday, November 7, 2025, has claimed the lives of two persons after a vehicle reportedly veered into the wrong lane, triggering a fatal collision along one of the town’s busy highways.

Eyewitnesses say the white sedan involved in the crash attempted a risky overtaking maneuver and crossed into oncoming traffic, directly striking the motorcycle.

The impact forced the motorcycle and its riders under a moving trailer, resulting in instantaneous fatalities.

The scene quickly drew a crowd of shocked residents and motorists, with video footage showing the mangled wreckage, scattered debris, and halted truck traffic near the crash site.

The disturbing footage also captured law enforcement and bystanders attempting to control the situation as emotional tensions rose.

Commuters lamented the recurring pattern of reckless driving and poor lane discipline in the area, where high-speed traffic mixes with commercial movement and pedestrian activity.

This latest incident occurs just days after another fatal collision in Ughelli, where three people lost their lives during a high-speed police chase on November 3.
