Udu Kingdom to Launch 20 million Naira Educational Trust Fund

The Ovie of Udu Kingdom Okporua the first, has announced plans by the Palace to launch a twenty million naira educational trust fund to assist indigent students across Udu Kingdom.

‎Okporua the first, disclosed this  during his Royal visit to Udu Local Government Secretariat in Otor Udu.

‎The Ovie of Udu Kingdom Okporua the first on arrival at the Udu Local Government Secretariat was warmly received by the chairman of Udu Local Government, Olorogun Vincent Oyibode and staff of the council through their Ema dance group.

‎The Ovie of Udu Kingdom while addressing staff of Udu Local Government shortly after inspecting  some projects embarked upon by the Olorogun Vincent Oyibode led administration disclosed that the palace has concluded plans for the launching of a twenty million naira educational trust fund for indigent students and  another one billion naira for small and macro businesses to be launched next year.

‎Okporua the first maintained that it was his desire to see all sons and daughters of Udu Kingdom prospering during his reign as King.

‎The Udu traditional ruler who disclosed that the trust funds will be funded by Udu sons and daughters both at home and in the diaspora  highlighted some of the palace developmental interventions across the kingdom after the presentation of staff of office and promised his commitment to always compliment the developmental strides of Olorogun Vincent Oyibode  by doing more for his subjects through his philanthropist work.


‎On the increasing cases of land grabbing in Udu Kingdom, Okporua the first described the ugly trend as criminal and challenged members of the Udu legislative Arm to come up with a bye law that will stipulate severe punishment for those involved in the ugly act.

‎Okporua the first who applauded the visionary leadership style of the Udu council chairman particularly in the area of peace and conflict management in most of the communities equally commended him for the role played during his accession and presentation of staff of office.

‎Earlier the chairman of Udu Local Government while welcoming Okporua the first on the royal visit to the council, highlighted some of his administration’s achievements and assured that the council will continue to partner the palace for the overall development of Udu.

‎Olorogun Oyibode who appealed to Okporua the first to uphold the 1979 Udu traditional edict equally commended him for the free distribution of drugs to all the health centers in Udu Kingdom and sue for the cooperation of the Udu people for Okporua the first.

‎Okporua the first later offered royal blessings to Olorogun Vincent Oyibode and the council staff.
