The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Udu Local Government Area, Delta State, recently held its general meeting at the party’s Secretariat in Otor-Udu, drawing enthusiastic participation from leaders, stakeholders, and members across all 10 wards.
The meeting served as a unifying platform to strengthen party cohesion, renew commitment, and set the stage for upcoming political activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
A key highlight of the event was the official inauguration of ward executives a move seen as both timely and strategic in reinforcing the party’s grassroots presence. Each executive was formally introduced and tasked with promoting inclusiveness, driving mobilization efforts, and demonstrating loyalty to the PDP.
The newly inaugurated ward chairmen are:
Ward 1 – Pressly Onobraekpeyan
Ward 2 – Ulo Edwin
Ward 3 – Sele Ufuoma
Ward 4 – Igboki Henry
Ward 5 – Ochuko Best
Ward 6 – Onos Augustine
Ward 7 – Saiki William
Ward 8 – John Kurame
Ward 9 – Lucky Igho
Ward 10 – Barr. Agreh
Speaking at the gathering, Hon. Kenairu Johnbul Aghogho, Chairman of PDP in Udu LGA, praised members for their dedication and resilience in the face of political challenges. He emphasized the importance of unity and teamwork in maintaining the party’s strong presence in Udu.
He reminded the newly inaugurated executives that leadership is about service and urged them to work closely with the LGA leadership to achieve the party’s goals.
Also speaking at the event, Hon. Dr. Olotu Akpodiete, a former House of Representatives aspirant in the 2023 elections, expressed his gratitude to the PDP LGA Chairman, the executive team, and party faithful for their unwavering support. He encouraged members to remain united and focused as they prepare for the 2027 elections.
He also noted that since some members defected to the APC, the PDP has experienced a renewed sense of internal democracy, along with upcoming empowerment programs targeted at party executives at both the LGA and federal constituency levels.
The meeting concluded with a strong sense of a “new dawn,” as party leaders and members reaffirmed their commitment to unity and teamwork, vowing to keep the PDP strong and influential at both the local and state levels.
