Warri Wolves Sacks Coach Napoleon After 4-2 Loss

The management of Warri Wolves FC has directed Head Coach Napoleon Aluma to step aside. This decision follows a series of disappointing results in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The latest move came just 24 hours after the “Seasiders” suffered a 4–2 defeat against Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) on Sunday. This loss has increased the pressure on the technical crew and sparked concerns about the team’s future this season.

Festus Ohwojero, the Executive Assistant on Sports to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, confirmed the decision. He explained that the management took this step to stop the team’s decline and stabilize the players.

“Coach Napo Aluma has been told to step aside,” Ohwojero stated. Furthermore, he noted that the assistant coach has been instructed to take charge immediately. The management will eventually make a final decision regarding a permanent replacement.

This is the second time Aluma has been relieved of his duties within the same campaign. He had only recently returned to the dugout after stepping aside earlier in the season. Currently, it is not clear if this new directive is temporary or if it will lead to a permanent exit.

As the assistant coach prepares for the next match, rumors about a new leader have already emerged. A club insider suggested that Warri Wolves FC might look for a high-profile replacement.

Specifically, the club is reportedly considering former Super Eagles player Ndubuisi Ndah for the position. Fans are hopeful that a change in leadership will bring much-needed consistency to the team as they navigate the rest of the NPFL season.
