Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Monitoring and Audit, Engr Dr Goodnews Agbi, has called on individuals and Oil companies constructing roads for their host communities to build roads that are upto standard as state government will not condone substandard jobs.
Agbi who made the call while visiting the ongoing constructed road at Umuseti community in Kwale after getting a distress call from some community members, expressed dissatisfaction on the poorly constructed drains that is not channeled to an outlet, stating that the project was not carried out by Delta State Government.
He however appealed to various companies and individuals constructing roads for their communities to carry out jobs that are up to specification and not make it look like the people are at the mercy of such group, insisting that what is worth doing, is worth doing well.
Agbi who also answered to the the call of the people of Asaba Ase, for an alternate route to be provided, visited the reconstruction of the failed Uzere/Asaba Ase culverts and rehabilitation of the failed sections along Uzere-Asaba Ase road in Ndokwa East and Isoko South LGAs, noting that an access road had been created for the people to use while work is ongoing.
Other sites inspected were the construction/rehabilitation of Emevor Ivrogbo/Orogun road phase II at Emevor town, Isoko North LGA and the renovation/rehabilitation of Warri Township stadium in Warri where he commended the contractors respectively for the progress they have achieved so far.
