A funeral in Bayelsa State has captured widespread attention after the family of an elderly woman chose an unusual tribute a coffin designed in the shape of a Coca-Cola bottle.
Late Madam Afuwari Ego, an 85-year-old grandmother from Emeyal 1 community in Ogbia Local Government Area, was laid to rest in the custom-made casket, crafted in honour of her well-known love for Coca-Cola beverages. Family members said the unique design was a reflection of her personality and the joy she brought to those around her.
Photos from the ceremony showed the striking red-and-black coffin fashioned to resemble the iconic soft drink bottle, drawing curiosity and admiration from mourners and community members who gathered to pay their final respects.
Relatives described Madam Afuwari as a cheerful, sociable woman whose fondness for Coca-Cola became a memorable part of her identity. They said the themed coffin was their way of celebrating her life and ensuring her burial reflected something she genuinely cherished.
