Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State have reaffirmed their commitment to party unity, intensified grassroots mobilisation and successful completion of the ongoing e-registration exercise as preparations intensify for forthcoming congresses.
The high-powered meeting, held Friday 23 January 2026 at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Asaba, brought together top party figures, including Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo (SAN), former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, ex-Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka.
Governor Oborevwori, who hosted the gathering, emphasised that true leadership stems from the people and must be anchored on humility, empathy and selfless service.
He urged members to prioritise collective interests over personal ambitions, shun division and avoid needless conflicts, describing unity as the party’s most potent weapon.
The governor noted that such strategic sessions afford opportunities to assess progress, fortify structures and gear up for key political events. He stressed the imperative of massive voter mobilisation, registration and active participation, which he said would ultimately shape electoral fortunes.
Governor Oborevwori specifically charged stakeholders to deliver overwhelming votes for President Bola Tinubu and other candidates in the 2027 general elections, asserting that the volume of votes secured would determine the state’s bargaining power at the federal level.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo commended strides in the e-registration drive and the party’s expanding diversity.
He called for sustained focus as congresses approach, warning against rumour-mongering and delays while advocating early consensus-building and dialogue at ward and local levels to ease tensions.
Former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for convening the meeting, hailing his invitation to Government House after years as a mark of inclusiveness.
He pledged unwavering collaboration with the governor and other leaders to bolster the APC in Delta.
Former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa applauded the stakeholders’ unity and persistent engagement, urging deeper grassroots efforts to drive e-registration into homes and communities.
He advocated inclusiveness and consensus in congress preparations, praising Oborevwori’s harmonising role and calling on leaders to return to their bases with fresh zeal.

National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka lauded the governor’s leadership and the digital overhaul of the membership register, endorsing a consensus model for the congresses.
State APC Chairman Elder Omeni Sobotie disclosed over 90 per cent realignment since April 2025, viewing the assembly as proof of surging unity and momentum.
Zonal chairmen highlighted district-specific updates: Delta North’s Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka noted prevailing peace amid registration hurdles; Delta Central’s Chief Paulinus Akpeki reported strong progress with Okpe LGA topping statewide figures, appealing for calm pending national guidelines; and Delta South’s Prince Austin Oribioye sought fixes for technical issues to hit targets.
State E-Registration Coordinator Prince Fred Mordi revealed Delta’s selection as South-South training host, with registration numbers climbing despite minor setbacks, and expressed optimism about meeting the deadline.
The session observed a minute’s silence in memory of late Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, former Delta North Senatorial representative.
The meeting underscored the APC’s determination to consolidate gains, resolve challenges and position strongly for future contests through unity and strategic organisation.
