In a move aimed at strengthening institutions under the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda, the Delta State House of Assembly on Wednesday, 4 February, screened and confirmed two key agency heads.
The plenary, presided over by Speaker Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor saw the house dissolve into the Committee of the Whole to scrutinise the nominees. Olorogun Kakor Stanley was confirmed as Director-General of the Delta State Local Content Agency, while Mr Okoh Sebastine secured approval as Managing Director of the Delta State Structure for Signage and Advertisement Agency.
Following a detailed screening process, the nominees were directed to take a bow, after which the lawmakers unanimously confirmed their appointments.
In his remarks, Speaker Guwor congratulated the new appointees and charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering impactful contributions to the state’s growth and development.
He specifically urged them to align their stewardship with the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda of the Oborevwori administration, which emphasises meaningful development, opportunities, reforms, and enhanced prosperity for Deltans.

In a related development, Governor Oborevwori transmitted the names of three individuals to the Assembly for screening and confirmation as non-ex officio members of the Delta State Judicial Service Commission.
The nominees are Joseph Obiananma Ojo (representing the Nigerian Bar Association), Chief James Obeuwou, and Fun-Ebi Edoyabo.
The governor’s letter explained that the nominations became necessary following the expiration of the tenure of three serving non-ex officio members of the commission.
Speaker Guwor directed the nominees to submit 35 copies of their curriculum vitae to the Office of the Clerk of the House on or before Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
He scheduled their screening for Wednesday, February 11, 2026, as part of the Assembly’s constitutional responsibility to ensure thorough vetting before confirmation.
The developments underscore the ongoing collaboration between the executive and legislature in Delta State to fill critical vacancies and sustain governance momentum in key sectors, including local content promotion, regulatory oversight for signage and advertising, and the administration of justice.
