The Delta State Government has reiterated its commitment to the welfare and safety of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state, as the 2025 Batch C Stream I orientation course formally commenced at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area.
Representing the Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr. Harry ThankGod Trakiriowei, declared the course open at a ceremony attended by newly inducted corps members ready to begin their year of national service.
Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner described the orientation exercise as a crucial platform for shaping young Nigerians into responsible nation builders.
He charged the corps members to uphold the values of discipline, unity and patriotism—principles that the NYSC scheme was established to promote.
He urged participants to fully engage in all training activities, emphasizing that the skills and exposure gained during the orientation would be instrumental in preparing them for community service and national development.
Barr. Trakiriowei assured the corps members of the state government’s unwavering dedication to ensuring a safe, peaceful, and supportive environment throughout their service year.
He highlighted Delta State’s reputation for hospitality and commended the NYSC management for its role in youth integration.
As the new corps members settle into their service year, the Commissioner encouraged them to be worthy ambassadors of their families, institutions, and the country at large, contributing positively to the growth of their host communities.
He concluded with a goodwill message, wishing all corps members a rewarding, productive, and impactful year of service.
