Delta Assembly’s Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has commended the Vincent Oyibode-led Udu Council for delivering people-oriented projects in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.
Chairman of the committee, Hon. Edafe Chukwudi, stated this during a project inspection, stressing that the governor’s vision can only be fulfilled when its impact reaches the grassroots through council chairmen.
The projects executed by the Olorogun Vincent Oyibode led administration and inspected by the members of the Delta State House committee on local government and Chieftaincy Affairs include the Construction of a Chapel within the Council Secretariat, Completion of a befitting Chairman’s office and ongoing construction of a four-bedroom duplex Chairman’s residence with a BQ, three rounds of palliative works on the Udu/ECN Road, with ongoing concrete pavement (piling) on critical sections for durability, ongoing construction of a modern Divisional Police Headquarters at Otor-Udu, procurement of four official vehicles for the Secretary to the Council, the leadership of the Legislative Arm, HPM, and TLG.
Speaking shortly after the inspection, the chairman of the state house committee on local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Dafe Chukwudi disclosed that the visit is part of their oversight functions as enshrined in the constitution which empowers them to verify projects executed by the council chairmen if they are commensurate with the funds accruable to the council and are also in line with the More Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Hon Chukwudi and his committee who praised the Udu council chairman for judiciously utilizing the Council’s funds to execute quality projects that will advance the More Agenda in Udu and urged him to also give attention to more projects and programs with economic value on the lives of the Udu people.
The Udu council chairman Olorogun Vincent Oyibode who presented a detailed document of his achievements and projects executed within one year and two months in office told the committee members that all the crisis he inherited upon resumption has been resolved using the alternative dispute resolution mechanism.
Olorogun Oyibode who disclosed that the oversight will help to shape and spur him to execute more people oriented in line with the More Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori assured that all ongoing projects initiated by his administration will be completed and commissioned before his two years in office.
