Dr. Charles Olisa, representative of the Ndokwa ethnic group on the Governing Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), visited Ashaka in Ndokwa East LGA on to inspect the ongoing efforts to clear blocked drainage channels.
During the inspection, Dr. Olisa emphasized that the de-silting efforts are happening across the entire state as part of the MORE agenda of Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State, aimed at making sure the state is protected from flooding.
Comrade Ona Chukwudi, the Ashaka Youth President, along with residents, traders, and staff of Ashaka General Hospital, expressed their gratitude to the DESOPADEC Board for the extensive work being carried out, hoping it will help reduce flooding in the area.
Dr. Charles Olisa was joined during the inspection by Comrade Kingsley Iweka, Mr. Monday Akpe (Head of the Environment Department for Ndokwa East LGA), Comrade Tom Onah (Youth President of Ashaka Community), and several other notable figures.
