In a dazzling display of fashion prowess, Ify Pineapple, the visionary Creative Director behind the Warri Fashion Lifestyle Festival (WFLF), has etched her name in the annals of history by smashing the Guinness World Record for the Longest Fashion Show.
According to the Guinness World Records website, the longest fashion show is 30 hr and was achieved by The Blossom Charity (UK) in Ipswich, UK, from 13 to 14 October 2017. The event took place at the Woolverstone Hall to raise funds and awareness of the charity.
The Warri Fashion Lifestyle Festival now in it’s 4th edition has now broken the current record and hopes to set a milestone of a 100 hours.
Earlier, Nnedosa Ifeoma Roseline, popularly known as Pineapple dot and her team explained: “The 5-day fashion runaway event with over 200 fashion designers expected to participate, is intended to break the Guinness world record for the longest fashion show in the world for a 100hrs, which is 4days and 6hrs without break.”
Currently holding at the prestigious GT Event Centre in Warri, Delta State, the fashion festival not only showcases the vibrant creativity of numerous designers but also exemplifies Pineapple’s unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries in the fashion world.
The longest fashion show attempt kicked off at exactly 12am on Monday April 22nd with host Oghenegare Abokwara welcoming attendees both physically present at the premises and watching online via live video streaming.
Models then proceeded to strut down the runway, adorned in a kaleidoscope of colors and textures, each ensemble a testament to the fusion of tradition and modernity that defines Nigerian fashion.
On Tuesday April 23rd, the previous record, standing at an impressive 30 hours, was shattered as WFLF orchestrated a marathon fashion extravaganza.
However, Pineapple’s ambitions is not resting on her laurels. Buoyed by the success of the record-breaking event, she has set her sights on an even greater milestone: a 100-hour fashion marathon.
With several designers from across Delta State and the South South region eagerly awaiting the opportunity to showcase their creations, Ify Pineapple envisions an event that will not only captivate audiences but also redefine the limits of what is possible in the fashion industry.
