Delta State Commissioner for Energy, Engr. Michael Anoka, has given a glowing update on the ongoing rural electrification project in Ode-Itsekiri and surrounding communities, assuring residents that work is progressing smoothly and remains firmly on schedule for completion within the set timeframe.
Speaking to Newsmen after an on-site inspection of the project locations, the Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the pace of construction, describing the developments as a major step forward in the Oborevwori administration’s drive to deliver reliable electricity to long-neglected riverine areas.
“Extending stable power supply to communities that have endured years without dependable electricity is a core priority of the Oborevwori government,” Anoka stated.
“This initiative is designed to spur economic growth, uplift livelihoods, and strengthen security across the state.”
He appealed for continued patience from affected residents, emphasizing that Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and his team are working relentlessly to bring the project to fruition.
Upon completion, the electrification scheme is expected to deliver far-reaching benefits, including a significant boost to small-scale businesses, enhanced local commerce, and accelerated community development in the targeted areas.
